One of the main components in decks and other areas of the home like staircases are railings. In decks, we are usually going to find railings covering the entire perimeter of the deck. We can also find them in balconies. Most of the time we are going to want these railings to be a little bit thicker than the ones that you will find in your average staircase at home. That does not mean though that we are not going to be able to build custom railings for your deck or any other area of your home!
Railings on Decks
We just finished saying that we usually want the railings in our decks to be a bit thicker than what we would find in an average home. The reason that we say this is that a lot of times these railings can serve a dual purpose. They can help people who are looking to lean on them while standing on a deck and they are also a great substitute for a table in a standing cocktail party. That is why we usually like them to be a lot wider so that people can comfortably rest their drinks on them.
Wood, Vinyl, Metal What Look Are You Going For?
We can really get creative with the railings on our decks. Since we work with many different types of main components, to begin with, like wood, vinyl, and metal we can also use them for railings. They can help provide your deck or any area of your home for that matter with a unique look that you are not going to get from the ones in the Lowe’s catalog. No offense here, but if you are looking for a truly custom look we are one of the few companies that can really provide that!
Railings For Indoor Staircases
We only used to work on railings for the decks that we built. Over time though, we had the fortune of getting a lot of calls from former clients that wanted to know whether or not we could work on staircases that were located indoors. We are not going to lie we were a little hesitant at first to start doing work on indoor staircases. After we got through the first project though, we kind of just ran with it and it has been great for us ever since.
When Is It Time To Repair My Railings?
This is a very important issue. It has been our experience that railings, especially the ones that are located on outdoor structures will tend to loosen up over time. Making them not very reliable as a support for anyone who wants to try and lean up against them. This is one of the things that you would rather be too early at than too late on fixing. If you are starting to feel that your railings are not as sturdy as they should be, give us a call. We will come in and tighten up what we need to tighten up or replace what needs to be replaced!
